WELCOME

Michael H. Wise, II was a police officer killed in the line of duty on June 5, 2004. He had worked for the City of Reading, Pennsylvania, for two and a half years before his life and career were so abruptly cut short.

Michael was born and raised in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania but was not afraid to venture beyond his hometown. A 1990 Cedar Crest High School graduate, Michael pursued an education in emergency medicine and graduated in 1993 from the Center for Emergency Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After graduating, he served as an EMT and Paramedic for First Aid and Safety Patrol in Lebanon then moved to Pittsburgh to work as a Paramedic. After almost six years in Pittsburgh, he returned to his roots in Lebanon County and settled in Myerstown to raise a family with his wife and continue his career in public service.

Once he decided to fulfill his lifetime dream of a career in law enforcement he was hired by the City of Reading and graduated in 2002 from the Reading Police Academy.

At the time of his death, Michael had a wife and 22-month old daughter. In addition, he was very close to his parents, sister and extended family who still mostly reside in the Lebanon County vicinity. Please visit our thank you letter link to read a letter from Michael’s widow.

Michael’s grave is located in Grandview Cemetery in Annville, Pennsylvania. His memory lives on through the Michael H. Wise, II Memorial Foundation which raises funds through several events throughout the year. Please visit the events link for dates and details.
